With my mechanical engineering background I naturally enjoy digging into the Cardinal and finding out what to look for and what to do when you find it. The web site came about through the urging of a number of Cardinal owners who wished for a central location for information about the Cardinal. The goal has always been to capture and retain the accumulated wisdom of the Cardinal Owning population in a way that helps most of us learn and helps all of us remember...

ANN's Daily Aero-Term (10.27.24): Clearance Void If Not Off By (Time)
Wed, Oct 30,2024 07:23:35PM EST
Clearance Void If Not Off By (Time) Used by ATC to advise an aircraft that the departure release is automatically canceled if takeoff is not made prior to a specified time. The expiration of a clearance void time does not cancel the departure clearance or IFR flight plan. It withdraws the pilot's authority to depart IFR until a new departure release/release time has been issued by ATC. Pilots who choose to depart VFR after their clearance void time has expired should not depart using the previously assigned IFR transponder code. (See ICAO term CLEARANCE VOID TIME.)

Airborne 10.24.24: F-35 Takes Flak, Blue Origin 2nd Gen, Gogo's Great Week
Wed, Oct 30,2024 07:23:18PM EST
Also: Coleman Lost at Airshow, Autonomous UH-72, Honeywell MX Solution, NBAA Like SFAR Further studies from the US Government Accountability Office (GAO) have determined that, after six years and over $12 billion in investments, the F-35 Lightning stealth fighter is still not combat-ready. This raises concerns regarding the fifth-gen jet’s ability to anchor American air superiority. As a part of a tactical aviation readiness report, the GAO tracked how closely US aircraft were meeting their intended mission-capable rates from 2018 to 2023. After a number of delays, Blue Origin’s 27th mission debuted the second human-rated vehicle for the New Shepard program, enabling expanded flight capacity to better meet what they claim to be ‘growing’ customer demand. The Gogo gang has had some interesting times of late... after announcing their acquisition of Satcom Direct, this week, Gogo struck deals with Textron for a number of the Citation line, and then took on another gig with Wheels Up, who will be installing their systems in short order. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne-Unlimited!!!
